Co2 inflators

  • Should I store the CO2 inflator with a cartridge screwed into the head?

    For safety reasons, we recommend not screwing the CO2 cartridge into the inflator head until needed in order to prevent CO2 being dispensed in storage / transport.

  • What should I do with any residual gas after using the CO2 inflator?

    One you have achieved the required tyre pressure, any residual gas in the cartridge should be fully emptied for safety reasons.

  • Do threadless presta valves work with the CO2 inflator?

    Most threadless presta valves have a small screw / threaded section at the very top of the valve stem which normally works with our CO2 inflator. If you purchase the inflator and things aren’t compatible for some reason, then send us a message and we’ll ensure we make things right for you.

  • Is the CO2 inflator compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves?

    The CO2 inflator is compatible with both Presta and Schrader valves, as the force of the gas expelled from the inflator head forces the valve open, no matter which type it is.

  • Can I use the CO2 inflator on valves with removable cores?

    Yes, however you will need to ensure that the removable element is fully screwed into the valve so that it does not become loose under the pressure of the gas and potentially waste any of the content of your cartridge.

  • What pressure will I achieve with the CO2 inflator?

    The tyre pressure that you can achieve with the inflator depends on what size cartridge you use, and the type of tyre that you have. Please refer to the below chart to find out what pressures can be achieved.

    Please bear in mind that CO2 gas slowly dissipates through rubber over time. As such, you will find that the normal tyre pressure will reduce slightly in the following day as the gas dissipates. We therefore recommend you refill your tyres with normal air using a conventional bike pump (mini or floor) once you get home after your ride.

  • What size of cartridges are compatible with the CO2 inflator?

    The CO2 inflator head supplied with the red foam sleeve fits ANY size of threaded CO2 cartridge (12g, 16g, 20g & 25g). However, please be aware that the red foam sleeve is designed to only fit over a 16g threaded CO2 cartridge.
    The CO2 inflator with metal storage canister is designed for 12g or 16g threaded CO2 cartridges, both can be stored in the storage canister before or after use.
  • Why are spare o-rings supplied with my CO2 inflator?

    A spare o-ring is a potential replacement for both of the o-rings that are inside the inflator (the one in the nozzle that connects to the tyre valve, and the one in the end that you screw the co2 cartridge into).  If either of the current ones wears out or falls out for some reason, you just need to insert the new one. You will need to poke it down into the relevant end of the inflator to position it.

Bottle Cages

  • What size water bottles will fit into the cage?

    The bottle cage will fit the vast majority of bike water bottles, from 500ml (18oz) to 1000ml (35oz). If you’re finding it’s too tight or too loose, you can adjust the wings of the bottle cage to accommodate. Just pull apart or push in the wings; the bottle cage is designed to be able to flex slightly.

  • The bolts supplied with the bottle cage do not fit my frame.

    If the supplied bolts do not fit, the bike itself should have come with bolts in the frame holes, which will fit.

Bicycle Pumps

  • Where is the hose / gauge?

    The hose and gauge are stored within the pump itself. You can access this by lifting the cap at the handle end of the pump and pulling out the hose within. You then screw the relevant end of the hose into the body of the pump and it is then ready to use.

  • How do you install the pump bracket onto the frame?

    The frame of your bicycle will need pre-drilled holes in the frame, and there should be bolts screwed into these holes.

    To install the bracket, ensure the threads on the mounting bolts are clean of debris, paint and metal chips, and then put a thin film of grease on them.

    You then line up the bracket with the holes, and hand tighten the bolts using a screwdriver or allan key, whichever is relevant. Be careful not to cross thread the bolts!

  • Do the pumps work with valves with removable cores?

    Yes, however you will need to ensure that the removable element is fully screwed into the valve so that it does not twist and come loose when you screw the pump hose onto the valve. If this does not work, you could also consider superglueing the core into the valve.

  • Why is the pressure gauge not rising when I pump a Presta tube?

    You need to ensure that the Presta valves are fully open, and then screw the hose valve head DEEPLY onto the tyre valve.

    This creates a full seal, allowing all the air to be pushed through when pumping. If a full seal is not created, then the air will sometimes get trapped in the pump. This will cause a ‘backup’ of air making pumping difficult, and in some cases the pump will heat up as the air has nowhere to go.

Pressure gauge

  • Does the gauge work with valves with removable cores?

    Yes, however you will need to ensure that the removable element is fully screwed into the valve to ensure it does not twist and come loose when you screw the gauge head onto the valve. If this does not work, you could also consider superglueing the core into the valve.

  • Why is the gauge not rising when I insert it onto the valve?

    If using a Presta tube, please ensure that valve is fully open, then screw the gauge head DEEPLY onto the tyre valve.

    This creates a full seal, allowing all the air to be pushed through when pumping and the gauge will rise smoothly. If a full seal is not created then the air will sometimes get trapped in the gauge head, which could cause the gauge not to rise correctly.
